This Year's Event to Focus on Growing Smart, Maximizing Shareholder Value, and the Increasing Leadership Responsibilities of Today's CFO

Newton, MA - September 25, 2007 - The MIT Sloan School of Management, in conjunction with the school's Alumni Club of Boston, today announced the fifth annual MIT Sloan CFO Summit. More than 500 CFOs and financial executives are expected to attend the 2007 event, which will take place Thursday, November 29 at the Boston Marriott Newton in Newton, MA. This premier CFO event brings together financial executives from around the world and leading faculty from MIT for a day of interactive learning and thought-provoking discourse on the future of finance, accounting, and business that is not available anywhere else.

The 2007 MIT Sloan CFO Summit will feature a luncheon keynote address by Robert Greifeld, President and Chief Executive Officer, NASDAQ. Other keynoters include David Elkins, Vice President and CFO, AstraZeneca US; Dennis Powell, Executive Vice President and CFO, Cisco Systems; Frank Edelblut, President, Control Solutions; Carol Tomé, CFO and Executive Vice President - Corporate Services, Home Depot; and David Schmittlein, Dean, MIT Sloan.

This year's theme - "Growing Smart: Navigating a Rising Tide" - explores how business growth is increasingly at the core of a CFO's responsibilities. Workshops and panels addressing this topic include "Managing Corporate Overhead for Higher Returns," "The Agile CFO-Finance Function of the Future," "Making the Transition from CFO to CEO," "Ethical Choices in Good Economic Times," "The Emerging Perspective," and "We're Public, Now What?"

"The role of the CFO is changing dramatically, "said Jeremy Seidman, Co-Chair of the event and Vice President, Credit Suisse. "Now more than ever, the CFO needs to be multi-faceted, positioned to maximize company growth and flexible enough to step into the role of the chief executive. Our workshops and panels will provide insights and practical information to help CFOs meet these challenges."

"The MIT Sloan CFO Summit is designed by alumni volunteers using our own business expertise to create a concise, informative, one-day program that focuses on the issues facing today's leaders," said Jack McCullough, Co-Chair of the MIT Sloan CFO Summit and Business Development Officer, CCR Group. "We have access to vital information and a network of expert business leaders to draw from, which allows us to foster thought-provoking discussions and facilitate peer networking."
